Andronico’s

Andronico’s Market operates about eight upscale grocery stores in the San Francisco Bay area. In addition to gourmet and other specialty foods, Andronico’s Market sells kitchen gadgets and tableware and features European, in-store bakeries and health product sections. An influx of larger traditional and non-traditional grocery chains into the Bay Area led Andronico’s Market to sell its store in Danville to rival Lunardi’s Super Market in 2006. Not long after the sale, the company closed its store in Walnut Creek. Andronico’s Markets was founded in 1929 by Greek immigrant Frank Andronico and today is run by president and CEO Bill Andronico, Frank’s grandson.
