H-E-B

H.E. Butt Grocery Company (abbreviated H-E-B) is a privately held San Antonio, Texas-based supermarket chain with 310 stores throughout Texas and northern Mexico. The company also operates Central Market, an upscale organic and fine foods retailer.

H-E-B has established itself as one of the largest regional food retailers in the United States. It is still owned and operated by the H. E. Butt family. Since 1971, when Charles Butt became company President, the number of HEB Partners has grown over tenfold from 4,500 to over 56,000. H-E-B operates over 300 retail stores in 150 Texas communities with expansions into Mexico.
